Privacy & analytics

Iso Biathlon is in active development. Optional analytics help us understand loading problems, which races people play, shooting and where races stop.

Your choice

Analytics start only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Declining never blocks play. To change your choice, use “Analytics preferences” at the corner of this site's pages, or “Analytics” in the game menu. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If analytics are not configured, no tracker or preference prompt loads.

What analytics collect

We use self-hosted Umami without analytics cookies. It receives page paths, the referring site's origin, event times and gameplay events: loading, race settings, laps, shooting outcomes, penalties, pauses, restarts and finishes. Events may include the game release, rendering backend, scenery preset, control type and loading duration.

Your browser sends its IP address and user agent with requests. Umami uses these to derive temporary session identifiers with a rotating salt; it does not store raw IP addresses in its analytics database. Hosting and proxy access logs may still contain IP addresses. Umami can derive approximate location and browser/device information. Cookieless analytics are not completely anonymous.

We do not send player names, nationalities, kit choices, best times stored in your browser, full referring URLs, query strings, GPU names, raw error messages, keystrokes, screenshots or recordings. We do not use advertising identifiers or session replay.

Rating the game

“Rate the game” in the game menu sends only what you enter: your 1–10 rating, your comment if you write one, the game release and the time it arrives. It is stored on our own server, separately from analytics, and does not need analytics consent. We don't store your IP address, browser details or any ID with it; the server only counts recent submissions per network address, in memory, to stop spam. Like any web request, sending it may appear with your IP address in our web server's access logs. Ratings and comments are deleted after 12 months. Please don't put personal information in your comment. Your browser remembers that you have sent feedback, so the button shows it as sent.

Data in your browser

The game uses local storage for settings and best times. Separate local storage values remember only your analytics choice and, after you rate the game, your rating, without a visitor ID. If storage is unavailable, your choice lasts for the current page. Clearing site data resets the choice.

Changing your mind

Declining in Analytics preferences stops future events from this page and other open tabs. It does not delete events already received. Events from before you consented are never replayed. Ad blockers or network failures may prevent analytics; the game continues to work.
